The Southwest Circuit

Well, after carnaval we were really hoping to get down to a place called Uyuni to start the southwest circuit tour. However everyone was much more interested in soaking us with more water than driving buses so we took the only option available to us. Go back to Tupiza and do it from the other end.

So there we met our australian friends from Copacabana and a nice Austrian doctor and got in a jeep for 4 days with an ewok shaped driver called Carlos and a wardrobe shaped cook called Mercedes. Here are some of the things we saw:

Geysers!

Lots of fun. then the wheel fell off. Actually off. Our 2 friends had to walk back into the desert to find it. Here is Dave ready with the spare though.

The it was on to MORE amazing landscapes;

Flamingos!

Then at 5am on the last day we made it on to the salt flats, and found a weird island full of Cacti.....

Look at the size of this one.... If you look closely you can see a Soph.

Of course we had to take some silly pictures;

So now we are in Santa Cruz, and getting ready for 2 weeks in the jungle with no electricity, no showers, and lots of monkeys, jaguars, spiders, mosquitoes and most worryingly, hippys.

See you on the flip-side.

Soph and Dave.
